Easily send documents via text (SMS) with Signeasy to streamline the signing process and improve turnaround times.

Available on Business Pro and Enterprise Plans.

By using this feature, you agree to Signeasy’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Recipient Consent Requirement

To comply with the United States’ Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and similar regulations worldwide, Signeasy mandates that senders obtain explicit consent directly from recipients before sending documents or notifications via SMS.

Senders are responsible for obtaining recipient consent before sending documents for signature or notifications.

Confirm Recipient Consent

When sending the first document for signature via SMS, senders will be prompted to certify recipient consent. This is a one-time process, and no further consent will be required after this step.

How to Send a Signature Request via SMS

  1. Click on Send for Signature.
  2. Upload or import the document.
  3. Click on the Signer Cards to add details.
  4. Enter the Signer’s Name and Email.
  5. Click on Send via Text.
  6. Select the signer’s country from the list and enter their phone number.
  7. Click Next, add fields and click on then Send for Signature.

Note: SMS delivery may be affected due to carrier restrictions. Some mobile carriers may block messages, which could prevent successful delivery. Signeasy is not responsible for such issues.

Recipient Experience

Once the document is sent, the recipient will receive both an email and an SMS with a link to sign the document.

Recipients can simply click the link to access and sign the document.

Opt-In and Opt-Out via SMS

Note: Recipients can opt in or opt out when receiving messages from a 10DLC number. This feature is available in the US and Canada but is not supported in the EU.

To opt out: Recipients with a US phone number can reply with STOP to our phone number. They will receive the following confirmation message:

"Opt-out successful. You will no longer receive SMS from Signeasy. To opt in again, reply with START."

To opt in: Recipients with a US phone number can reply with START to our phone number to provide consent or re-enable SMS updates. They will receive the following confirmation message:

"Opt-in successful. You’re now subscribed to SMS updates from Signeasy. Reply STOP anytime to opt out."

Is Recipient Consent Required to Send a Document via SMS?

Yes. In all countries that regulate business-to-consumer messaging, businesses must obtain the recipient’s consent before sending messages. It is recommended to verify the recipient's phone number and obtain consent before sending a document via SMS.

Warning: Signeasy reserves the right to suspend accounts that misuse this feature by sending spam messages via text (SMS).
